Another hallowean event full of exciting standing around...
Am I the only one who feels the Hallowean events are nothing more then standing around waiting for the King to arrive, listen to him say some stuff and get free goodies?
Where are the quests like during Winters day?
Where are the present drops like other festivals?
We get..
Mad Kings guard Henchmen,
The fancy dress pvp event,
Some cutouts to look through and take screen-caps,
Some trick-or-treet bags that contain mostly consumables that give buffs and
Some really nice outpost make-overs.
...but i'd personally rather a quest or two! I dont love pvp, so the fancy dress thing doent apeal at all. It would be nice to get some posions which turned you into something funny like at xmas.
Other events just seem to get more attention paid to them, and are alot more exciting to take part in.
Can we not have a quest or mission next year?
Does anyone actually hang around once they get their two masks?

I'm worn out on the holiday quests. Its always do 4 or 5 quests to get most of the needed items for whatever, then get the last few as drops doing anything else. I'd rather stand around for awhile and then go do whatever I feel like doing. Plus its fun watching everyone have a go at the mad king says thing.
Oh, and I do hang around after I get the mask, or more accurately, I come back to get the other one and then repeatedly to get the current give aways (the TT bags this year). Also, the costume brawl was a nice addition this year.

I missed last year's, found the Mad King visits quite fun the first few times, but it got boring pretty quick
Costume brawling was kinda meh, i just did it for gamer points. Similar format as HB / AB, nothing new.

Yup, I was surprised/disappointed by the lack of quests as well. The event, while certainly looking nice, doesn't seem to have a lot of substance. Not that I'm complaining, really, as I appreciate Anet having these events at all...

Well, this *was* the first holiday event that surfaced, they just haven't had much time to add too much content to it :-p

Halloween event is boring. Only worthwhile thing is Mad king. Lasts all of 10 minutes. See you next year!

Another freekedoutfish thread full of exciting griping.
(By the way, freekedoutfish and Hallowean should exchange vowels.)

Disagree: I think it's much better if Anet gives a specific flavor to each event, and not create them on the same schemma, but with only different "quest names" or "quest items".
Instead of looking in the Halloween for what you'd like to see in it, either appreciate it for what it is, or do not take part in it.
Yet another thread that will end up in whining on the right side of the boat, pointing the finger at the right side on the left side of the boat, and people standing silently in the middle waiting for the boat to sink

Yes Halloween is a boring event. So what should you do?? Well one of two things:
1. Make a well thought out suggestion in Sardelac Sanitarium. Or
2. Skip the boring Halloween event and wait for the Wintersday one.

I would agree that there could be some fun stuff added. I can't remember which festival it was where you had to chase the naked man about sock over by Bergen (or something like that).
And I don't PvP much myself. I considered it when the report feature was implemented - but the children who intended to grief and leech put up a hell of a fight to make sure they would never be accountable for RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing up other people's play. So, I no longer have a reason to PvP. It won't get anything I need. I can't use it to give all my characters skills like a PvP player can. I can't earn the right to skins I would want for weapons. PvP is absolutely useless for PvE players (although the reverse is not true as any PvPer can benefit fully for anything they do in PvE - again the prejudice for PvP players from ANet.)
And certainly a little bit of a scavanger hunt or something would have been appropriate. Quests to allow players access to past hats at each festival would be really nice. Yes, I got both hats available this year. Went to the hat maker to have them studied, and promptly destroyed them. These parties are more about showing off who they elite players of yesteryear are instead of including new players in what GW is across the board. (O, you don't have XXX - you noob. Why I am so much more perfect that you are because of what you will never have.)

I think it was cool halloween ISNT a big hoilday anyways,TOT(trick or treat) bags wear class even tho I did see them last yr but it was still great fun,If you dont even want them why not sell them in a week for 3k?or more.thats what people did with the mini pets, remember when only like 5 people had them?now every1 sold them.
And every hoilday[im guessing] you get a new hat in certain places. Some ppl are soo eager to get a hat.I couldnt get one so that was another exclusive thing

Because obviously my pumpkin hat makes me uber-leet (Tm) and shows that I've been playing the same game for years, and therefore must be a really interesting person with a great life

For that sir, you /winthread.
I actually lol'd for real. No offence Fish, but it was funny.
I like Halloween, the Mad King has a nice musty old familiar feel and I don't have to go tromping around Tyria picking things up to get some goodies, just spam emotes till I look like a complete fool and job done.

Dunno about anyone else, but I wear my pumpkin hat because I prefer it to the new ones. I also don't have the elusive 2005 helm, which was even better looking but I wasn't around then.
In response to the 'do you hang around' - not after, unless it's the evening but beforehand yes. I like to dance and muck about. I was in ED22 earlier and most people were standing around doing nothing, so I broke out my assassin's spirit dancers and started boogying , a dervish threw up his disco ball and lots of people got their groove on in the end.
Shame there was a bit of the usual "noob" rubbish when people didn't twitch emote fast enough during Mad King Says, but I guess you can't get away from it. I still find loads of fun chortling at the unintentional deaths (mine included), as long as people don't get nasty about it.
